UMary ACC Artshow

Had a great time at the UMary ACC Artshow. Made 3 pieces that each told a biblical story and 2 were picked up by patrons! I'll be working on some pieces over the summer to showcase at BAGA in the fall. If anyone would like me to make a stained glass piece for them, let me know!

2 Pieces Purchased at BAGA Holiday Sale!

In December I submitted two pieces to the BAGA Holiday Sale. It was a cash and carry event for shoppers! Here they are:

"Hay Field" was the first piece that was picked up. I made if from a picture I saw in the Tribune that Mike McCleary shot around harvest.

"Sun Flower" was the next piece that sold. Obviously a play on works, the "Sun" creates an overall image, while the "Sunflower" brings it back.

Thanks for the support everyone, I will be showing more pieces at Dakota Stage very soon. I will post on my website to let everyone know when you can see them there!

Here are some of the pieces that I made for Christmas presents. I constructed 2 lamps and a set of 2 sconces.
Currently I am working on 4 pieces for the Christian Art Show at the
University of Mary that will be for purchase. The pieces will all represent a biblical story shown in glass, for instance "Water in Wine". S

Christmas Show @ BAGA (2010)

Next up, the Bismarck Art and Galleries Christmas show.Artists may submit up to two pieces at a time to the show; all are for sale.
When a piece sells, it can be replaced with another, and so forth
.

For the two pieces to begin, I plan to show "Sun Flower" and "Twirling Stars." Both are my original designs.
"Sun Flower" is built on a base of ribbed clear glass, with a frame of amber and gold. The large "sun" is an amber glass jewel, which can also be read as the center of a "sun flower." T
he vines to right and left
are embellished with hex nuts and wing nuts in flower shapes.
The "petals" or "rays" are created by turning the ribbed glass to different angles to crosshatch against the background.

"Twirling Stars" is a composition of cobalt and violet with touches of green. Seven stars are intertwined and appear to be in mid-turn against a swirling background of clear-and-green.
